The Inspired Capture: Dance Videography by Jamie Lebowitz -

I’ve done two shoots with The Inspired Capture, a holiday shoot and a portrait shoot. The results of both were amazing! For the holiday shoot, photographer Jamie set the scene with cotton-ball snow and oversized ornaments. I came with poses ready, but she helped me adjust them to capture my best angles and features. For the portrait shoot, I wanted to be more natural and elemental; we stripped things down in an intimate boudoir-style session and focused on subtleties, such as facial expressions, hand gestures, and light and shadows. I felt perfectly comfortable being undressed in front of her; she put me right at ease and was professional in every aspect. I am in love with the photographs I received; the raw pics looked incredible. I chose to edit and finish just a few, and the editing process with Jamie was also easy. She’s so communicative and incorporated all the small changes I wanted to make to finalize the photographs. I will definitely be working with Jamie again, maybe next time on a video reel. I’ve been in group dance classes where she’s captured movement, and, as a dancer herself, she also does a great job knowing how to highlight the body in motion. I also want to work with her on some portraits of my companion animals, and as she is an animal lover, I know she will be wonderful with them too.

I had the chance to shoot with Jamie for some aerial dance photos. I could not be happier with how the whole experience went from start to finish! On the day of the photo shoot, Jamie was extremely efficient in setting up, professional, and knowledgeable. She was able to give great tips on how to improve my poses in order to achieve flattering angles. Also, she was very patient in making sure we got enough photos to work with. Her turnaround time is great with the final images as well. Needless to say, I am beyond thrilled with the results!!

Jamie does amazing work!! She created a dance highlight reel for me and the experience was fantastic from start to finish! She made me feel so comfortable while filming and helped guide me through the process. She sent me my video several days before the anticipated delivery date which was a lovely surprise. She understood my one edit request and made the change within a day. Her prices are also very reasonable considering the exceptional quality of her work. I highly recommend Jamie, especially to anyone who has never been filmed while dancing before. I can’t wait to work with her again!

I have never gotten professional portraits done and I was wanting something that captured my essence as I've become more aware that I'm not getting any younger. My goal was to bottle up this moment in time of who I am and who I've become. I relied on Jamie's creative eye and eagerness to experiment and explore. She did not disappoint!! I felt cheesy when smiling for the camera but the photos turned out so natural looking. Jamie caught "in-between" moments, some I don't recall posing for and they turned out fantastic! She also gave cues that helped add dimension, personality and movement and it shows in the final images. I couldn't be happier with the results. I appreciate her and her craft so much for helping celebrate me 🙂

Scheduling a session with her was so smooth and easy! She made sure to lay out different options and tried to understand my style and preference before the shoot!

During the shoot, I felt very comfortable and we wrapped up everything efficiently without running too many times!
The final products were amazing and something I could definitely see as a staple material that I could use to promote myself

I absolutely recommend collaborating with Jamie! We created a free-styling pole dance video in Los Angeles and I've already signed up to work with her again in San Francisco. Jamie was prepared, friendly, and open minded- all of which made for a very comfortable experience. She was open to chatting a lot before the shoot so that she understood my goals and we made the best use of our filming time. She edited and returned the video in about a week with really thoughtful editing and was open to feedback. I enjoyed the entire experience and love the end result.
